Sudo chown -R 0:0 /System/Library/Extensions/BrcmPatchRAM2.kext/ Which told me 2 error messages: BrcmFirmwareStore and BrcmPatchRAM2 had the wrong permissions. * While that didn't work at first, I then tried to refresh the kext cache the files didn't show up in kextstat. I tried putting the kext files in /L/E, didn't work so I tried /S/L/E. So I got "BrcmFirmwareStore" and "BrcmPatchRAM2" from RehabMan. Without kext files, nothing worked "OOB" with my USB dongle. However, HA finds the bluetooth adapter and configures it, but it does not work properly (for instance, in my case it does not find any BLE device like beacons - even I having almost side by side). Too late to answer, but BCM20702A1-0a5c-21e8.hcd is not present in the home assistant OS. There was a github pull at some point that was supposed to add support for Bluetooth dongles on all platforms which I took to include the HassOS VMDK. Is anyone whose using the HassOS VMDK on ESXi successfully using a bluetooth dongle?
